10 years of postal already
Postal has been a staple of my life for the last ten years. As a result it is difficult to describe one postal moment as the most memorable. It might be the day that I first saw the two page ad in the magazine, but that was only the beginning. I vividly remember walking into the Staples store and seeing the original postal sitting on the end of a shelf in a well stocked display. I made my parents buy it then and there. I've been hooked ever since.
Frequently I find myself qouting the disturbed journal entries of the first game. even more so whilst playing the sequel. maybe my most memorable moment was the anticipation of postal two, playing the demo, or finally sharing the pain online. I nearly crapped myself when I heard about postal three, and I came even closer when I hear about uwe bolls upcoming film rendition. I couldn't believe Dave Foley was going to play uncle dave. Not only that, but actually taking a dump on camera! Awesome.
In terms of memorable gameplay moments, I loved killing the ostriches and editing maps in P1. But all the really memorable gameplay is from P2 + AW + Kamek's AW7 mod. Smoking catnip and dicing airborne bodies just to watch the chunks fall once the drugs wear off. I love the greenbelt and the explosive shack, but particularly the mattress there as you can stand on it and kick it around actually achieving limited flight. all the moveables in the dining area of meatworld are fun too.
Peeing gonnoreah in someones mouth to watch them puke so i can smash their skull with a sledge and see the spew.
The list of twisted pleasures goes on and on ensuring that Postal in all it's incarnations is indelibly etched into my mind.
