Super Mario Bros, this theme alone must be one of the most recognizable music pieces written in the 1980's, safe to say we can all agree on this. Limited by game technology, composer Koji Kondo's work is sheer brilliance. But, is it all his?

Blog all things mau dug up an LP from a band called "Friendship." The record was released in 1979 and features a track called "The Real Thing," that sounds a lot like a futuristic version of SMB's "Underworld" theme. The theme and game, came out in 1985.
Did Kondo rip-off this Friendship track? No clue. But, both songs do sound similar.
