*CT Exclusive* Trauma Center Second Opinion

Trauma Center SO: by far one of the best Wii launch titles!

This morning I came into the office presented with TCSO, I've been a fan of this series for quite sometime on the DS, and it was only a natural fit to bring it over to Wii.
For those who don't know and or unfamiliar, Trauma Center: Second Opinion is actually an overhauled port of the smash hit Trauma Center: Under the Knife, which Atlus developed for the Nintendo DS.

"Calling Dr. Stiles, Dr. Stiles to the operating room"

Trauma Center is set in the life-or-death environment of the hospital operating room, and focuses on the live of the young up-and-coming trauma surgeon Derek Stiles.
As you and Dr. Stiles mature as surgeons, you slowly learn Dr. Stiles discovers he has a superhuman ability called the Healing Touch.......

Using the Wiimote
From scalpel, forceps and everything else, the ability to dual-wield the Wiimote in one hand and Nunchuk in the other, this inspired combination that streamlines surgeries.
For past DS players of having to tap to select one of eight surgical tools, the player can simply flick the Nunchuk's joystick in a particular direction to choose a tool on the fly, allowing the other hand to stay focused on performing the procedure. For example the defibrillator, works by thrusting both the Nunchuck and Wii Remote forward and pressing the Z and B buttons at the correct moment to create an electronic charge.

Second observation
The game doesn't leave the operating room with out its draw backs.
The difficulty spikes incredibly high, frustrating in several points, and while there has been a slight overhaul of graphics and adding of voice acting, Second Opinion still basically feels like the original DS game.

But fear not, the game brings forth a significant amount of new material. Many familiar operations have been given new twists. With the touch of Wii-only procedures and entirely new scenarios have been added, including a new game ending, as well as a kind of side story featuring female doctor.

Final diagnosis
It brings originality of the surgery, and the fact that game play is so uniquely suited to the Wii, and could only be done with Nintendo Wii, is what ultimately makes Second Opinion a MUST BUY. Turn aside Zelda, Excite truck and place TCSO on the operating table.

ConsoleTECH Review - 4 out 5
Must have title for Nintendo Wii!

Yeah, I got one. Also picked up Rayman Raving Rabbits, it's pretty cool. I love the DDR-esque disco game where you kind of 'drum' in time to the rabbids dancing on the stage.
