I had a hard time trying to find an opening line for this review. I also had a hard to finding words for this masterpiece.
Rez released by Sega in Japan in 2001 for the Dreamcast, immediately fan base.
Rez is a rail road shooter, but did something that was unseen, replacing sound effects found in rail shooters with trance music, sounds created by the player as they targets are destroyed.
The story:
Rez takes you deep into the world's computer network, which has recently been updated to handle the overload of information. The core of the new network is known as Eden, an extremely advanced artificial intelligence. Only, Eden is perhaps too brilliant and begins to ponder its own existence and suffers a breakdown. You must take control of the network while you manically search for Eden to bring it back online.
Rez is a rail shooter in which the player takes control of an on screen character traveling on a predetermined path. Players can shoot enemy or holding down the "fire" button, to lock-on up to 8 enemies at once.
Coming to xbox live the game is 100 percent to the original, minus the trance vibrator. What has changed isn't much with the game at all, other then high def wide screen, very nice feature. But one thing that really did stand out with me, the options to download anyone high score, and watch there replay.
You have also score attack, the answer is in the name. Also travel mode, more or less practice mode.
The title itself is a beautiful walk down memory lane with the Dreamcast, and nice to see it live once again. For 800 market place points, this is a no brainier, hell there are some of you out there who spent 10 dollars of craptasic maps!
Go out and get this game!
