Dumping the HKT-0120 BIOS

A neat little hack that was done, the BIOS from an HKT-0120 Dreamcast Development Box was dumped. The same method used to dump the BIOS of a retail Dreamcast via the serial method was used to dump this BIOS. The only additional item required was an RS-232 null serial cable.

In order to dump the BIOS of a retail Dreamcast unit, either dcload-serial (For use with a serial cable) or dcload-ip (for use with a Broadband Adapter) has to be burnt onto a CD-R disc. Unfortunately, the HKT-0120 cannot read CD-R discs, so dcload-serial had to be compiled into a GD-ROM project. From there, the project was built and ran on the HKT-01, enabling the BIOS to be dumped. The BIOS was then tested on the Sega Dreamcast emulator, Chankast, and turned out to work!
