    Turn 10 Turns 180: Pink Ribbon Ban Reversed, Ta-tas Saved!

    Just a follow up, it seems that Turn 10 have turned a 180 and have removed SLIM135's ban for creating a Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Awareness bumper sticker in Forza Motorsport 3.

    Respect to SLIM135 for standing his ground on their forums; respect also to Turn 10 for admitting when they've been a bit stupid and reversing their decision to ban him.

    From Turn 10 Studio Blog;

    We received a few tips this afternoon, pointing to a Forzamotorsport.net forum post, in which user Slim135 says he was banned for a Breast Cancer Awareness bumper sticker as part of his custom livery setup inForza 3. The way we heard it, the sticker got him banned for having the word "breast" on it. Sounds a little ridiculous, right? Turns out it is.
    We contacted Turn 10's Community Manager, Che Chou, to find out why someone would be banned for a relatively tame word like "breast." As it turns out, the bumper sticker actually said "Save the Ta-Tas" on it, which some users found offensive and subsequently reported as such. Not knowing this was an actual slogan from an actual breast cancer foundation, Turn 10 issued a ban in response to a number of inappropriate content complaints from the Forza community.
    Afterward, they were pointed toward this website, which is part of a real breast cancer foundation that actually does use the slogan, "Save the Ta-Tas." With the misunderstanding cleared up, the ban was promptly lifted. If the internet mobs put down their pitchforks long enough to take notice, they'd see that all is well.
    That's not to say you should go about pasting boobs all over your Nissan in Forza 3. But if you heard that Turn 10 will ban you for the text "Breast Cancer" because "breast" is a naughty, naughty word, you heard wrong.
    So there you have it. We don't love cancer. In fact, we pretty much hate it. Also, we don't hate the word "breast". It's a lovely word.
    In the future, if you happen to find yourself looking at the wrong end of a Storefront or Auction House ban, email forzafb@microsoft.com -- in this particular case, it could have been resolved much more quickly.

    funny

    funny thing is I shot them a couple emails and the only response i got was the reeason i was banned. that it was innappropriate and obscene depicted nudity or sexual themes. Again turn 10 trying to cover up that they ban people without looking at why. since my reinstatment i have seen depictions of pigs doing "it". numerous stickers with "foul language" did i report them, no. Why because of free speech. its not my place to say what someone else can or cannot say. I really believe that turn 10 should do a litte more leg work before they hit the ban button. AM i still mad. yes. do i blame them for wnting to keep it from becoming a house of porn like forza 2, no. im glad they are policing the game better this time. they just need to "look" into things a little better and give some warnings before a ban.

    Funny you should say that Slim, I had sent them a number of emails on your behalf, and I have yet to get anything from them.
    It's a real shame how many people are getting a ban for nothing.

    Classic cut and paste bullshit response, I know them well. It makes it perfectly clear to you that they've basically ignored what you've just said.

    The moderator on the Forza forum and/or the respondant to your e-mail could (and should) have just spent literally 30 seconds of their to read and understand your message, and this whole sorry fiasco could have been avoided.

    It's a shame that it took some intervention by the media to get a positive result in this case.
